The environment that we create around us is generated in our mind first. We have found that conscious control of our body language and tone of voice is a near impossible feat without first participating in a true change of heart. When we find that every individual is unique, that every idea is worth exploring, that every emotion deserves thought, then we begin to transform our character. For it is true that inside the individual resides the realm of reason. In seeking to discover the uniqueness of our companions we unwittingly earn respect. We investigate opinions because we wish to achieve mutual benefit with all. Combining mutual respect and mutual benefit we create an impenetrable barrier against malevolence. We have set our spirit free from the control of others.
Our spirit is ours and ours alone. No one or no thing can manipulate it when we seize control. Being self aware of the impact our body language and tone have on others we find that our spirit can inflict equally upon our own self. This is the final key to establishing peace in our life. The outward balanced with the inward sets us completely free. Unlike any other creature on earth God has endowed us with the ability to reason. We are free thinking individuals. We alone choose our path. No one causes or forces us to make choices. We are responsible for our own actions.
We own our own spirit. We control our own emotions. We can replace strife with charity, anger with love, wrath with meekness. In our mind the battle of spirit begins and ends. Wickedness is first generated in our imagination. Herein lies the battleground. Our spirit is ours and ours alone. No one or no thing on earth or in the universe can penetrate the spirit without our permission. God alone can lead us. 'This is just how I am' or 'That is just the way I was raised' can no longer hold us down. Free our spirits, free our minds, choose to be free thinking individuals, and win control over our own self.
